Robert Thill is currently publishing "Intellectual Property: A Chronological Compendium of Intersections between Contemporary Art and Utility Patents in Serial Form" on the Web site of the Clandestine Construction Company International, which is devoted to issues related to art and law. This publication is an expanded, adapted version of "Intellectual Property: A Chronology Compendium of Intersections between Contemporary Art and Utility Patents," which was first published in Leonardo: Journal of the International Society for the Arts, Science and Technology 37, no 2 (2004), pp. 117--124. Begun on March 10, 2008, a different project in the compendium appears biweekly as a unique electronic publication. This undertaking shows an ongoing engagement with the subjects of contemporary art, patents, and intellectual property and places Thill in a unique position to comment upon them.

Thill's writing has appeared in numerous publications, including Art Criticism, Flash Art, and The Architect's Newspaper. He has served as contributing editor of Transcript, a not-for-profit journal of visual culture published by the School of Fine Art, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, Scotland. Thill has written exhibition material for the Drawing Center, New York, the Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam, and the Art Gallery of Windsor, Ontario. As an adjunct instructor in the Department of Fine Arts, Art History, and Humanities at Hofstra University in New York, Thill initiated and organized (with Bronwyn Hannon) an undergraduate primary research project of the Howard L. and Muriel Weingrow Collection of Avant-Garde Art and Literature Collection. He has been a guest lecturer at Pratt Institute, the School of Visual Arts, the Brooklyn Museum, the Queens Museum of Art, and participated as a panelist at the College Art Association's annual conference. In addition, Thill is an administrator at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York.
